Sitting in Hebrew class…

So, we are preparing for our final, and I can’t seem to stay focused.  I feel like at this point in the semester, if I don’t have this stuff, I’m probably not going to get it.

I’m excited for this weekend.  I’m going to a Rangers game on Saturday, and generally preparing to shoot my short film on Monday.  This has been stressful.  I’ve finished the script, and am now finding my actors.  More to come on this when I’m done.  I’ll hopefully post that here.

Also, I get to meet with the chaplain for the Dallas Cowboys this week on Thursday.  Cross your fingers that I’ll be able to mentor with him in the fall.

That’s all for now peeps.

Scriptures 1 Research Paper

This paper is done over the issues of having two creation stories.

Varying Accounts of Creation: Contradiction or Reinforcement?

When looking at the beginning of the Bible, a problem is immediately encountered in Genesis 1 and 2.  There are two separate, seemingly contradicting accounts of creation.  The immediate issues arise in a series of questions.  Can both of these stories be factual?  What does the writer intend his audience to learn from these stories?  Does this support or hurt a view of a divine creation?  With these issues in mind, this paper will consult a variety of writings on Genesis and creation with a goal of finding the purpose of this troubling section of the Hebrew Bible. Evangelism Paper

I had to write this paper for my Discipleship and Evangelism class recently.  Enjoy.

Evangelism is a facet of Christianity that is not often treated with the respect and caution that it warrants.  Through relationships with fellow believers, I have learned that many view Evangelism as blindly sharing their faith to whoever is receptive.  In this paper, I will attempt to provide a more complex definition that shows a call to action, but also a word of warning.  First, I will consult a few Theological dictionaries and encyclopedias for an academic definition.  Next, I will consult different resources that address the complexities that come along with these definitions.  Lastly, I will take the research and create my multi-faceted definition.  (more…)

The Pittsburgh ‘Stealers’ get number 6

Well, I have given it a week to sink in, and I guess now I will finally acknowledge a Pittsburgh Stealer victory.  I don’t like it any more than anyone else.  I do think that this should not have been the outcome of the game however.  I give much of the blame to the officials in the game.  If anything, it was not evenly called.  Be it a bogus roughing the passer call, or a pass that was called a fumble, the refs certainly didn’t do their job well.  I also give some of the blame to the Cardinals.  After watching this game, it shouldn’t have even been this close.  I think everyone saw what they were capable of in the second half.  I’m amazed that Haley gets a head coaching job after this game.  When you have the most dominant receiver in football You Should Use Him!  He got two passes thrown his way in the first half, and that is simply not enough.  Also, even though I have had some people disagree with me on this, at the end of the first half, they should not have been throwing a slant into the endzone.  Inside the five they should only have one pass call.  Fade to Fitz.  14 point swing.  Without that play, the refs would have had to work a little harder to give the game away.  Lastly, I don’t think the go ahead touchdown was a catch.  I could be wrong on this, but it appeared like one of his feet was on the other, not the ground.

So Pittsburgh gets number six, and to me they lose their name.  They will from now on be referred to as the Stealers.

Tony Romo in car accident in Waco!!!

According to a few eye witnesses, (mainly an officer and some dude that doesn’t drive too well) Tony Romo was the victim of a fender bender in Waco on Thursday.  The accident happened around 10:30 at the intersection of 5th and Clay.  One eyewitness reports hearing the statement, “Sh*t, I just hit Tony Romo!”  Tony’s Trooper suffered very little damage, but the other gentleman’s car took quite a beating.  Tony seemed to have that grin on his face the entire time, not letting the accident get to him.  The officer, after receiving an autograph, gave Tony his cell phone number, and let him know that any time he was in Waco, and needed help, to give him a call.  He parted ways by stating to the one guy, “drive safely,” and to Tony he simply said: “Play Well!”

Tony doesn't seem too upset about the accident
